Oregon School Tennis Play Day was organized by PE teacher
Bianca Martinez who attended the USTA/ATA Skillastics training last fall. She asked USTA trainer Mitch Joyce to head up activities. For two days in
February, Mitch, Bianca, and ATA volunteers ran tennis rotations with over 180
elementary students each day! Two courts
were overflowing. with at sometimes over 80 children, learning tennis skills
and having a great time. Mitch again
demonstrated his skills in working with beginning tennis players and this ended
up being fun for everyone! Big thanks to Mitch, Bianca, and to all who
volunteered: Janet, Joe, Anke, John, and
Evelyn.
