2018 55 and over Sectionals

Congratulations to Gail, Diane, Janet & Joe for their ladies and men's 55 and over teams won their division and made it to Sectionals for the Southwest, held this past weekend in El Paso. I was fortunate enough to see tons of great tennis played by our folks as well as others. Next weekend Gail, Joe & Janet are off to Tucson for another Sectional's event, their 40 and over Mixed won their divisions. We also ran into a former ATA member at this event. Nice catching up with Laurie Frappier.

Alamo/Roswell Exchange

You may already know this, but this event is cancelled for this year. However, there will be a PLAY DAY on 9/22.

A successful RoadRunner tournament

We had a great turnout for the 2nd RoadRunner tournament held here in Alamogordo. 27 kids participated, 4 from Alamogordo. Big Thank You to Jamie, Evelyn, Greg, Gail Patsy, Sintra, Curtis, Pat, Joe, Ron, Lori, Bernice, Nell and Grady for all their help.

RoadRunner Jr. Tournament

This Saturday, 9/8/18, we have 29 kids coming to play in this event, coming as far as Juarez. Matches start at 10:00am, come out to watch and support junior tennis. Come out and volunteer, it's not too late, contact Evelyn or Janet if you can help.   ALL COURTS WILL BE IN USE.

Later this month 9/22 is the exchange with Roswell, taking place here in Alamo, so if you'd like to play, please let a board member know, we really do want a headcount, so take too long in deciding to play or not.

September birthday gathering will take place at the courts on 9/13, this is an ATA board sponsored social. You can bring your dinner if you eat on the later side, the board will provide a cake, lots of September birthdays so we hope to see you there.

ATA and Alto Lakes Tennis day

This past Saturday, August 4th, some of our members headed to the beautiful, cool country of Ruidoso to engage in an exchange with the folks of Alto Lakes Country & Golf Club. After playing, we all gathered outside for lunch. Great job by Evelyn and her friend Elaine.

 

 

REMINDER: this Thursday is the ATA social tennis at 7:00pm, though many show up earlier.
