Sr. Summer Olympics

In Albuquerque last week, Grady, Ron, Domingo and Charles all participated in the Olympics. 

Grady took second place in singles in his age group -  Congratulations Grady.

Charles took third place in his age group - Congratulations Charles.  Domingo took second and Ron took fourth in their age group - Congratulations to Domingo and Ron.
August 6th birthday dinner will be held at the Wild Game Bistro on Highway 82, right before/next to the Apple Barn.
PICKLEBALL - starting Monday, August 13th at 6:30pm, all are welcome, Chuck Kime has requested some night playing.

July Play Day

Saturday's play day filled up 3 courts. Random prizes were drawn. Sandy S was the receipient of a gift as the oldest player to show up. Lots of good breakfast burritos, German cakes and salsa. Thanks Sintra for hosting and she thanks Ron, Charles and Sal for helping set up play day.

~ 2nd session of tennis camp starts this Monday, 25th. 8:00am - 10:00am, M, W, F.

~ Thursday, June 28th, 4th Thursday, evening tennis social at 7:00pm.

~ July birthday dinner is July 2nd at 6:00pm at Carino's.

~ July 7th play day will be hosted by Sintra Sampath, 9:00am. (4th of July theme) 

 

Gail and Janet made their way to Sectionals in Tucson this past June. Janet captained a 40 and over ladies team, "The Terminetters" who won their league. Great tennis. I will say and I know I speak for the rest of our team, Gail was amazing. (Sorry no pics, we were too busy playing). 😊

June Play Day

June PLAY DAY is set for this Saturday, June 2nd, at the Cloudcroft tennis courts with play starting at 9:30.  Please bring along chairs (as there is no seating available there), sunscreen, and plenty of water.  We will be playing in the cool mountains at 9000 feet elevation, so you might want a light jacket. We'll be using USED tennis balls because of the elevation. After play, everyone is invited to the Genta's cabin for lunch.

There are lots of activities that weekend (Rails to Trails stations, an organized run, etc.), so feel free to just come for lunch if that fits your schedule better.  A map to Genta's cabin will be available at play day (its just a few minutes drive from the Cloudcroft courts), or call Evelyn or John.

40 and over Mixed Doubles

Hi all, just a reminder that it's not too late to put together a team from Alamogordo, half the matches would be played here if a team is put together. Good, fun tennis with the chance to go to Sectional's in Tucson,  September 27-30, 2018, Tucson, AZ - Hilton El Conquistador

Tonight's turnout was pretty good, 3 courts of mostly mixed doubles. Thanks so much for your participation. Joy made Ceviche which is always yummy, snacks and water provided by your board members.

We will do this again next Thursday at 7pm since everyone thought the time was perfect.

Beautiful, windless morning, for our May play day. Great job by Joy and Sal. Food was DELICIOUS, 1st watermelon of the season was yummy, prizes were great. Winners: Rick, Pat, Ron, Nori, Diane and Janet.
