NOVEMBER DECEMBER NEWSLETTER

The last play day of 2022 will take place on December 3 @ 9:30.

Annual Meeting 11/19/22: There was no interest from any members to run for a term on the board, therefore, Candace Cormie, Greg Richardson and Carl Jones will serve another term on the ATA board as well as Janet Santackas (1yr left) and Cathy Waggoner who has volunteered to take over Denise Buchan’s spot for 1 year.  Turkey winners: Congratulations to the 4 turkey winners: Evelyn Genta, Patsy Common-Pearce, Joy Gallent and Pat Morgan.  Thank you to those members who showed up in the cold this morning to participate.

2023 membership dues: As announced at the Annual Meeting, the board has decided that due to the past 2 years with the Pandemic and the very little ATA events, there will be no dues for current ATA members for the 2023 year. We sure hope to have more tennis fun on and off the courts.

The Kidz Summer and Fall Camp was a huge success this year. Huge thank you to Candace and Garrett Cormie for spreading the word. HS Tennis has begun

Tiger Tennis team opened their season in Las Cruces, February 19 & 20. They competed in the Centennial/Organ Mountain Invitational (a lot of schools participated). Singles took place Friday and doubles were played on Saturday. Great job by all the schools and coaches as everyone was spread out between 3 locations. Results: the girls brought home First place and the boys took third, special congratulations to Eva Westover as she got the MVP, winning the singles bracket as well as doubles with her partner Evony. Great job Tigers, congratulations on your medals and trophy.

FYI, this coming Saturday, February 26th, all courts will be in use as the Tigers are hosting St. Michael's. If you can come out and watch and support some great young tennis players, it would be appreciated.

Construction is under way for the Barbara Springer memorial building near court 7, the bleachers have been moved and the area is fenced in. You might have to use the outside gates to get to courts 7 & 8.

February's play day was windy and a bit cold however it still took place, thank you Cormie's for hosting.

Stay tuned for more info
