The Dues are Due
December 2013
Dear ATA members,
DUES ARE DUE!
ATA annual membership dues
are due Jan. 1, 2014. Dues remain a bargain at $15/individual and $29/family!
Dues will be accepted from now to
Feb. 1, 2014 and can be given to John Genta or mailed to ATA, PO Box 684, Alamogordo, NM 88310.
“Why should I pay dues when I
can get all the information about local tennis on the web site?” you might
ask.
Yes, we have a great web site
(alamogordotennis.blogspot.com) that gives updates on tennis in the area.
So why might you want to pay
your dues?
1.
Dues support
ATA which is the only organized tennis club in Otero and Lincoln
Counties
2.
Paying dues gets your name on the roster so others can
contact you. This roster will be revised
early next year and non paying players will be deleted
3.
Paying dues
allows your name to remain on the ATA
email list where continuous emails are sent to inform and remind players of
upcoming events. This list will also be
revised early next year.
4.
Paying dues makes
you eligible to play in monthly PLAY
DAYS and other events.
Also, please note:
after July 1st ATA charges half price for NEW MEMBERS
only. This is an incentive for new
members to join, not a discount for old members who prefer to join for only 6
months. It simplifies recordkeeping to
only add new members to the roster and email list, so please don’t ask for a 6
months membership.
Thank you for your continued support for ATA.

Blough Family / Cody Independence Day Tourney
What an example Jess Blough sets for tennis players! He not only continues playing fine tennis himself, but his three grandchildren, Trey (17), Taylor (16), and Tessa (12) have joined him in playing the Cody Independence Day Tournament. There is not enough room to mention all the events they played in and results, but it is significant that Tessa won championship in both her singles and girls doubles events. It is safe to say that the Blough family was tired by the completion of the tournament!!
Well done Blough family!!

Alamo/Roswell Exchange
Thanks to all those that came out this morning to play. Sammy Soza from Roswell and I really appreciate it. We are sorry that not all of the Roswell players showed up, that made it a little confusing, but after scrambling, we got things going.
Best of all, Alamogordo keeps the trophy. A big thanks to Rick Sotak who played on NO sleep, after driving all night to get back to Alamo, I definitely owe you some beers and Sintra too. :)
Thanks to all of you for playing and winning, I hope you all enjoyed yourselves.
Next event other than the July Play Day, is another possible I-70 Exchange, that all depends on peoples interest, as Alamogordo would have to go to Las Cruces this year.
Good luck to everyone playing in the Senior Summer Olympics next week in Roswell.
